Marol is a part of Andheri (East) in Mumbai. It is very close to the International Airport. Marol consists of the area Marol village (THATS where I stay), Marol Naka, Marol Depot(OUR hang out place), Military Road, Marol Pipeline, Vijay Nagar, Bhavani Nagar, parts of JB Nagar, and parts of Marol MIDC. Its proximity to the international airport makes it a prime business district. Located off the Andheri-Kurla and Andheri-Ghatkopar link roads, it has good east-west connectivity. The area was inhabited from ancient times, and came under the hands of the Portuguese and then the British. Marol has the Marol-Maroshi Road stretching from the Marol Naka up to Maroshi Naka (in Aarey colony), beyond which you can find the Picnic Spot. .Marol Village is the native of Christians, with the St. John the Evangelist Church & its High School here(My Parish & My school).
Vijay Nagar is one of the older colonies. It has the LT societies. A Church, a Gurudwara, a Mosque and a few temples are all within a distance of 60 metres. Police Camp is at the end of Marol and is the home to the families of people working for the Maharashtra Police. It is mainly the base camp for the State Armed Constabulary
The oldest housing colony in the area is a group of 11 building on Military Road called Blossom Society (stayed there for a year & it was amazing). The first occupants arrived here in 1968...............
